Cambodia Gambling Halls

There is a fascinating history to the Cambodia casinos that lie just over the border from next door Thailand, in which casino gaming is banned. Eight casinos are anchored in a generally small space in the city of Poipet in Cambodia. This conclave of Cambodia gambling halls is in a perfect destination, a 3 to four hour travel from Bangkok and Macao, the two most popular gambling locations in Asia. Cambodia gambling dens do a huge business with Thai blue-collar workers and tourists from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a couple of Westerners. The phenomenal income acquired from the gambling halls ranges from $7.5 million to more than 12.5 million, and there are a couple of controls constraints for gambling den ownership. Ownership is presumed to be mainly Thai; although, funding sources are cryptic. The borders are ceremoniously open from 0900 to 5:00 p.m., and even though visas are allegedly required to pass, there are means around this, as is accurate of most borders.

The initial Cambodia gambling halls opened in Phnom Penh in the mid nineties, but were required to close in 1998, leaving only one gambling den in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a stationary boat casino, highlights one hundred and fifty one armed bandits and 60 table games. The Naga gambling hall is open 24 hours with forty two tables of mini-punto banco, four tables of 21, 10 of roulette, two of Caribbean Stud Poker, and 1 each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The 1st casino in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, opened in the late nineties and the Golden Crown before long followed. There are 150 slot machines and 5 table games at the Golden Crown and one hundred and four slot machine games and sixty eight table games at the Holiday Palace. The newer Holiday Palace Casino and Resort highlights 300 slot machines and 70 gaming tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has 166 slot machines and 96 gaming tables, including 87 punto banco (the most popular game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Additionally, there is the Casino Tropicana, with one hundred and thirty five one armed bandits and sixty six of the familiar gaming tables, as well as a single table of Casino Stud Poker. An additional of the eight gambling halls in Poipet, again a part of a hotel, is the Princess Casino with one hundred and sixty six slot machines and ninety seven games. The Star Vegas Casino is is located in an international resort and hotel complex that contains a number of comforts aside from the casino, which houses ten thousand square feet of 130 slot machines and eighty eight tables.
